Half-Cup Putting Aid

As an avid golfer of over 50 years, my passion has always been to improve my golf game. Years back, I was working in my office, while taking a break from the business at hand, I decided to roll a few putts on my putting mat. Earlier that day, I was enjoying a plate of snacks, so while practicing, I thought I’d take the paper plate the snacks were on and modify it to place over the golf hole. This was the earliest version of The Half-Cup. By cutting a 2” slot into the plate and taping it over the hole, The Half-Cup idea was born, creating the concept of “practice small, PLAY BIG”!

Being in sales all my life, I realised that this could work but now I had to find a way to bring the idea to life! Over the next few years, I worked with several friends who helped me get the concept to reality, CAD drawings, 3D printing, beta testing, injection molding, now I needed to find a marketplace. Sending out numerous samples and letters, I realised that the golf market is a difficult business to crack however my break came when a buyer decided to give me a chance and from there we took off. We now are enjoying both retail and online success as well as work with numerous college and university golf programs, golf coaches and instructors.
