Memorial Tournament
Founded by Jack Nicklaus, in 1976, Memorial has been a long standing feature of the PGA Tour calendar at Muirfield Village Golf Club. With a prize purse of $12,000,000 it is sure to draw some of the biggest names on the PGA Tour. Top feature players this weekend include John Rahm, Rory McIlroy and last year’s victor, Patrick Cantlay. The man to watch my well be John Rahm, with his recent appearances riding the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in the golfing world. 2 years ago, his win took him to the top of the world rankings for the first time. The highest of highs. Last year on the other hand, Rahm lost a 6 shot lead on the final day due to no fault of his own. Rather COVID reared its ugly head and forced his withdrawal. Will he right the balance books and claim his second title or will another triumph?

US Women’s Open
The US Women’s Open is a hot bed of breaking news. With Nelly Korda and Annika Sörenstam returning this week, and Michelle Wei West preparing to say farewell to a stunning career, The US Women’s Open has all the big names preparing for take off. Having recovered from an operation on her arm, Nelly Korda (World number 2 and reigning Olympic Champion) is returning to the competitive fray whilst 51 year old Sörenstam is also preparing for a tough challenge. It is no wonder all eyes are pointing at the remodelled Pine Needles course, as the Women’s US Open is putting up a record $10,000,000 purse! It will also be one of the last times we see Michelle Wei West on the course as she prepares to step back due to a number of compounding injuries causing issues off the course.

Porsche European Open
Hosted in Hamburg, on one of the longest courses in Europe, if you like big hitters, then tune to the Porsche European Open. Green Eagle boasts a 7,603 yard track with the odd feature of 4 par 5’s in the back nine alone, of which the longest, the 16th, is a beast, at 705 yards long! The headliner, is Tommy Fleetwood who is the highest ranking player in the field at world number 41. He has shown some glimpses of his old form and will be working to fend off the putting master Victor Perez, who won last week and is looking for back to back titles. The tournament has been dominated by Englishman in recent years with Marcus Armitage taking home first prize last year, so if you are looking for some Jubilee Patriotism, look no further.
Where to watch: Sky Sports Golf from Thursday 12pm.
